Fled International Leadership Institute is founded on the premise that leadership is central to the development and sustenance of institutions and nations. We believe that poor leadership is responsible for pervasive poverty, disorderliness and under-development in Africa. We reckon that the quest for prosperity, peace, security and sustainable development in Africa rests on society’s readiness to train, nurture and deploy quality leaders to take charge of public resources for public interest.

Fled International Leadership Institute is a graduate leadership School with the mandate to train leaders and entrepreneurs for Africa’s transformation. It was established on August 15, 1999 and incorporated in Nigeria on January 21, 2010 under the Companies and Allied Matters Act CAP 59, Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and approved by the Federal Ministry of Education (RC:865275).

It exists as a  global training arm of Foundation for Leadership & Education Development – FLED- an NGO founded in 1995 by Joseph C. Ibekwe.

The Institute also engages in comparative study and research on social, political, and economic development issues that contribute to national transformation.  It provides training that build the capacity of leaders to lead and the ability of followers to follow.

How we do our work

We carry out our work through continuing professional leadership education, capacity building, membership induction, mentorship opportunities, and research.

What we are not

We are not a management training institution or management consulting firm. We do not offer management training courses. We only provide leadership education and leadership certification training.
